photo of Kovatchavitsa<br><br>The title for this tune is the name of a villiage I visited in southwest Bulgaria. It's near Gotse Delchev, which is where Rumen is from. <br><br>The tune was inspired by some Greek/Macedonian music I've heard here and there. Some of the brassbands have this free and wild heterophonous sound - clarinet, trumpets and saxophones all playing slightly different variations of the melody simultaneously and/or switching between melody and accompanyment which gives it an interesting sort of momentum and chaos. The texture changes with varying numbers of melody instruments and accelerating tempos.
